Dinner with State Rep Bill Post 7/9

We are in a fight to avoid the largest tax hike in Oregon.  In November we will be voting on the multi-billion dollar initiative petition 28.  Please join us to learn about this tax hike from State Rep Bill Post (House District 25 Newberg, Keizer) at our MCRP chicken fajita buffet dinner/fundraiser at La Carreta Mexican Restaurant and Cantina on July 9th at 6pm.

State Rep Bill Post was elected in November 2014 to the state legislature.  Previously he had been a local celebrity in the local TEA Party movement as a conservative talk radio host "the Bill Post Radio Show" which started in April 2009 on 1430 KYKN.  He is also the voice of the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes Baseball.

Initiative Petition 28 has been called a sales tax in sheep's clothing.  It will generate 3 billion each year in revenue primarily from higher costs to consumers.  It has been estimated to cost each Oregonian $600 a year.  How does a large family or someone on a fixed income absorb that?  It will hit the poor and vulnerable as well as the wealthy.  Our prescriptions might be taxed, our groceries might be taxed multiple times as the processor, distributor and retailer might all add layers of tax. Lawmakers would be able to spend it on anything they choose.  They tell us it will go toward schools, but under democrat rule Oregon state govt spending has more than doubled in the past ten years.  Has your local school budget doubled? Not even close. So why would we now believe their priorities have changed. Petitions have been qualified for the November ballot.  This is a potential tax that needs to be thoroughly vetted and we will want all the details to share with family and friends.

Tickets are $25.00 - our price not the restaurant price as this is a fundraising event for the Multnomah County Republican Party.  This includes the meal and gratuity.  Beverages are sold separately.  We will be in the upstairs banquet room.   Tickets are available through July 5th.  Regretfully, we cannot add diners after July 5th.  La Carreta is at the corner of SE Holgate and SE McLoughlin Blvd.  It has a parking lot.

Buffet dishes include: chicken fajitas, chile relleno, cheese enchilada, beef and beans burrito, beef flautas, rice and beans.

It will hit the poor and vulnerable as well as the wealthy raising 3 billion dollars a biennium.  Our prescriptions might be taxed, our groceries might be taxed multiple times as the processor, distributor and retialer might all add layers of tax.  Lawmakers would be able to spend it on anything they choose.  They tell us it goes toward schools, but under democrat rule Oregon state govt spending has more than doubled in the past ten years.  Has your local school budget doubled? So why would we believe their priorities have changed.
