Lone Survivor Movie - Veterans Appreciation Event

The Multnomah County GOP is helping to organize a Veterans appreciation event for the movie 'Lone Survivor'. An MCRP member has offered over two dozen tickets and we've added to that amount to reach 40 tickets to be given FREE to Veterans to come see this movie. We encourage others to join us as well on Sunday, January 12th, 2014, 3:30pm show at the Regal Cinemas theater on 166th & Division in Portland.

The movie is based on true events that occurred to a team of Navy SEALs and other military personnel during Operation Red Wings in the mountains of Afghanistan in 2005. As the movie title suggests, only one (Marcus Luttrell) of the original four SEALs returned alive, and this movie tells the story of that fateful mission and events surrounding it.

We welcome others that would like to provide additional tickets so more Veterans can attend this event. Please contact Jeff Reynolds ([email protected]).

Tickets for Veterans will be given out at the theater within the hour before showtime. And will be on a first come first served basis, from our RSVP list, you must show Military ID (either active or inactive) and RSVP ahead of time. Tickets will be available until 5 minutes before showtime, so arrive early.

Veterans can RSVP for this event here. You DO NOT need to be a registered Republican to receive a movie ticket. If you're a Veteran, come join our event.

Non-veteran guests will need to buy their own ticket at the box office or online and the earlier the better. Here's the Fandango.com page for this Theater and date (1/12/2014). As of Wed 1/8 they don't have showtimes up yet for Sunday, but we went to the theater today and purchased tickets for the 3:30pm show for Sunday. So check back often if you want to purchase advanced tickets online and join us for this event.

All are welcome to Join and Share our Facebook Event, let's get a large crowd out for this Movie!

This movie is Rated R, with this statement on Rotten Tomatoes: "for strong bloody war violence and pervasive language", and so may not be suitable for all audiences.

Update 1/11/2014: We are hearing that at the end of the movie, either before official credits roll or after, there is a special tribute to the fallen soldiers. Pass that info along so people stay till the end. Thank You.
